Planning Your Destination Wedding

A destination wedding is an amazing event, taking an already beautiful experience and adding an exquisite location. Instead of family and friends getting together for a 5 hour reception, you will have an entire weekend together to celebrate. A destination wedding will generally cost at least a 1/3rd of what a local wedding will.

We have had the opportunity to plan many destination weddings over the years. Everything from an intimate ceremony just for the bride and groom-all the way to a huge 150 person extravaganza. We take a lot of pride and care into making sure our clients understand everything that is needed for an amazing experience.

Based on our vast experience in planning destination weddings we would like to share with you some situations that may arise during your planning process.

The In's and Out's

Number of guests attending: Planning a destination wedding is quite different than a local affair. You are asking your guests to come out of pocket to attend your wedding and take time off of work/school. In our experience around 35% of the number of guests invited will attend the wedding.

Children/No Children: Certain guests will fight to have their children attend. It is YOUR day; do you want to stay at an adult's only resort? Many times family members who are the reason you chose a family friendly resort end up not coming at all. Now you are staying in a resort you didn't necessarily want in the first place for one member of your party that isn't even attending. If only one or two of your guests are looking to bring their children, this will give you something to think about.

Airfare Pricing: This is something completely out of anyone's control. We can fight to get a wonderful resort rate with many great amenities. Please allow us to suggest destinations that traditionally have better priced airfare. Also, there are times of year that the airfare is quite high. Many things come into consideration with this. We will be happy to discuss this at length with you.
